Old Friends tours have been modified to comply with Commonwealth of Kentucky public health safety COVID-19 guidelines. We offer socially distanced, outdoor guided tour experiences. Tour details and what you should know about visiting Old Friends during the COVID-19 pandemic are detailed below. Please choose which tour is right for you and book through our online portal. Cancel within 24 hours of tour time to receive a full refund. There are NO PUBLIC RESTROOMS. We CANNOT accommodate children under 10.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT VISITING OLD FRIENDS

 - There are NO PUBLIC RESTROOMS available.
 -  We are a working farm. Please realize that there may be mud, flies and typical farm odors.
 -  Our tours are outside so dress accordingly. You will be walking on uneven, grassy ground.
 -  Tours are restricted to the main tour route. At this time, we cannot accommodate requests to visit specific
    horses residing elsewhere on the farm.
 -  Face masks are required for the duration of your visit to Old Friends.
 -  Social distancing from farm staff at a minimum of six (6) feet is required..
 -  A health screening, including temperature check, will be performed prior to your tour. Temperatures must  
    register below 100.4° (per CDC guidelines) to be cleared for the tour.
 -  Respect all posted signage, rules, regulations, and safety instructions conveyed by Old Friends staff and tour
    guides.
 -  No children under 10 at this time are allowed. Counsel your children that they must respect the rules laid out by the  tour guides.  They cannot pet the horses without first asking their tour guide, no running and no climbing on gates and fences.
 -  Our outdoor Gift Shed is available for shopping and souvenirs.
 -  Pets are not allowed except for Service Dogs.
 -  There are NO PUBLIC RESTROOMS

GENERAL GUIDED WALKING TOUR   BOOK A TOUR

General Guided Tours Daily at 10am and 1pm
Your tour guide will lead a 1½ hour walking tour You will meet 10-15 retirees including 1997 Kentucky Derby winner Silver Charm.
- Tour cost $25.00 per person.
- Reservations required.
- Maximum tour size 12 people. We cannot accommodate children under 10.

5/50 SPEED TOUR   BOOK A TOUR
Speed 5/50 Guided Tour Daily at 2pm
Have limited time? Give us 50 minutes and you’ll meet five millionaires plus a full brother to a Kentucky Derby winner. Please note: Silver Charm is not on this tour.

FOUNDERS TOUR  BOOK A TOUR

Founder’s Tour with Michael Blowen Fridays & Sundays at 12:00pm
Old Friends founder Michael Blowen leads your 1½ hour tour, introducing you to 10-15 Old Friends residents including 1997 Kentucky Derby winner Silver Charm.
  - Tour cost $75.00 per person.
  - Reservations required.
  - Maximum tour size 12 people. We cannot accommodate children under 10.
  - Limited golf cart availability.

Private Guided Tours Call Us For Appointment
An exclusive tour opportunity for groups of 10 people and under. Your tour guide will lead  your party on a 1 ½ hour tour introducing you to 10-15 Old Friends residents.
 - Tour cost $50.00 per person.
  - Reservations required.
  - Maximum tour size 12 people. We cannot accommodate children under 10.

Directions to Old Friends

  • From Louisville
    Take I-64 East to Georgetown exit (Exit 69)
    Turn left off the exit ramp onto US 62 (Paynes Depot Rd.)
    Go approximately 1 and 1/2 miles - Old Friends will be on your left.
    The Visitor Center is in a yellow house. Go past the yellow house about a block to turn left onto the service road to reach the visitor center.
  • From Cincinnati
    Take I-75 south to I-64 west.
    Take Georgetown exit (Exit 69)
    Turn right off the exit ramp onto US 62 (Paynes Depot Rd.)
    Go approximately 1 and 1/2 miles - Old Friends will be on your left.
    The Visitor Center is in a yellow house. Go past the yellow house about a block to turn left onto the service road to reach the visitor center.
  • From Lexington
    Take US 25 North (Georgetown Road)
    Cross over I-64 and then I-75
    Continue on US 25 and turn left onto Old Ironworks Pike (1973).
    Go approximately 3 miles to the 4 way intersection of US 62 (Paynes Depot Rd.)
    Turn right onto US 62 (Paynes Depot Rd.) Go about 1/2 mile. Old Friends will be on your left.
    The Visitor Center is in a yellow house. Go past the yellow house about a block to turn left onto the service road to reach the visitor center.
  • From Kentucky Horse Park
    Turn right out of the park onto Ironworks Pike (1973)
    Go approximately a mile and turn right onto US 25 (Georgetown Rd.)
    Make an almost immediate left onto Old Ironworks Pike (1973)
    Go approximately 3 miles to the 4 way intersection of US 62 (Paynes Depot Rd.)
    Turn right onto US 62 (Paynes Depot Rd.) Go about 1/2 mile. Old Friends will be on your left.
    The Visitor Center is in a yellow house. Go past the yellow house about a block to turn left onto the service road to reach the visitor center.
  • From Keeneland Race Track (scenic route) 
    Turn right out of Keeneland. Continue on US 60 til you reach the Castle. (Castle will be on your right). At the corner of the Castle, turn right onto Pisgah Pike. Continue til dead end at 1681. Take immediate left onto Paynes.  Continue til stop sign and turn right onto Weisenberger Mill.  Go over bridge and continue til dead end into US 421.  Turn right onto 421.  Take immediate left onto US 62. Go a couple miles...go over I64. At this point, we are 1 1/2 miles on the left. Our visitor center is a yellow house. Go past the yellow house about a block to turn left onto the service road to reach the visitor center.
