Our guided tours offer a unique opportunity to hear their stories, connect with the horses, and experience life on the farm. Many of our visitors arrive curious—and leave with a deeper appreciation for the horses and their stories.

Before You Visit
We want your visit to be enjoyable, safe, and comfortable—for you and for the horses in our care.
Your guide will lead a 90-minute walking tour, introducing you to approximately 15 Old Friends retirees, including Kentucky Derby winners Silver Charm, I’ll Have Another, and Big Brown, as well as Hall of Fame member Lava Man. Along the way, you’ll hear their stories and experience firsthand the personalities and lives of these remarkable horses in retirement.
Join Old Friends founder Michael Blowen for a 90-minute walking tour filled with stories only he can tell. You’ll meet 10-15 Old Friends residents, including Kentucky Derby winners Silver Charm, I’ll Have Another, and Big Brown, as well as Hall of Fame member Lava Man. Along the way, Michael shares the history, personalities, and behind-the-scenes moments that make each horse unforgettable. And if you’re lucky, Little Brown may tag along for the tour.

Whether you’d like to meet as many horses as possible or spend time with just a few favorites, your guide will tailor the visit to your interests and pace, creating a more personal and memorable experience.

Guests will enjoy a guided tour of Old Friends, meeting the horses up close and hearing the stories that make them unforgettable. Take I-64 East to Georgetown Exit 69. Turn left off the exit ramp onto US 62 (Paynes Depot Road). Old Friends is 1.8 miles ahead on the left. (Follow the brown directional signs). Go approximately 100 yards past the Visitor Center (yellow house), turn left onto the service road (Neel Lane), then make an immediate left to continue to the Old Friends Visitor Center. Park in the lot beside the Visitor Center.
Take I-75 South to Georgetown Exit 126. Turn right off the exit ramp onto US62. Go approximately 6 miles, then turn left at stoplight to continue on US62. Go one mile to Old Friends on the right. Turn right onto the service road (Neel Lane), then make an immediate left to continue to the Old Friends Visitor Center (yellow house). Park in the lot beside the Visitor Center.

Go approximately 100 yards past the Visitor Center (yellow house), turn left onto the service road (Neel Lane), then make an immediate left to continue to the Old Friends Visitor Center.
