KENTUCKY STATE SPECIALITY LICENSE PLATE
Our request for an Old Friends Special License Plate has been approved by the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet!! We sincerely thank the very talented cartoonist, Marti McGinnis of www.studiomudio.com for donating her drawing of the happy residents at Old Friends for the plate.
Now for the details: Pursuant to Kentucky Revised Statute KRS 186.164(11), we must collect 900 applications and payments for the plate. Each application must be accompanied by a $28.00 check made out to Old Friends. When we collect all 900 applications, Old Friends will submit one check for the entire amount to the Transportation Cabinet, at which time the state will begin production of the plates. There is no deadline for collecting the 900 applications. The plates can be picked up at your usual county clerk’s office when you pay your property taxes and vehicle registration fees. The clerk should ask you if you’d like to donate $10.00 to Old Friends. The state will submit those donations back to Old Friends. If you currently have a personalized plate, it can be combined with the Old Friends special plate. The donations we receive from the plate will be used for horse feed, veterinary care and upkeep for the farm. Please realize that your plate may not be available in 2009 as license plate production will not begin until we have the total 900 applications.
