History:  Most of our residents come to us with legendary racing careers; others with gritty stories of survival.   In the case of  Leave Seattle, his background is sketchy at best.  We do know that this handsome son of Seattle Slew and grandson of Northern Dancer was bred in Kentucky and raced only 3 times with no wins.  We also know that he had a respectable stud career in Massachusetts, standing at one time at Briar Hill Farm in Rehobath.

 

Albeit unspectacular, Leave Seattle’s road to Old Friends has been anything but smooth.  We know that at one time he was consigned to a slaughter auction, and he spent some time in a Lexington boarding stable prior to winding his way here.  Rest assured, this soft-eyed fellow with the sweet disposition has found a permanent home in the company of our champions.
