History: Kudos’ racing career features multiple graded stakes wins including the Jim Murray Memorial Handicap, California Stakes and San Marino Handicap. Possessed of a late-running style, his most impressive win was the 2002 Oaklawn Handicap (G-1) in which he trailed by as much as 15 lengths before storming to the front in the stretch and galloping away to a 4-3/4 length victory. A successful runner on both turf and dirt, Kudos earned an impressive $1,238,000.
Although raced primarily on the West Coast, Kudos was bred in Kentucky by Jerry and Ann Moss. The Moss’, who are the owners of the 2005 Kentucky Derby winner Giacomo and multiple stakes winner Ruhlmann, are avid supporters of Old Friends. They generously opted to donate Kudos to Old Friends on his retirement, following in Ruhlmann’s footsteps.
