Noor Memorial Ceremony Aug. 30

Friday, August 22, 2014
Our volunteer and tour guide, John, will be hosting a special ceremony on Saturday, August 30 at 12 Noon at Champion Noor's gravesite in our Memorial Garden adjacent to the visitor's center. We will mark the third anniversary of the journey of this great stallion to his final resting place in Kentucky with the interment of bones since discovered at his original gravesite in California. The original site was purchased for development. Guests are welcome to come and pay their respects at this observance. The name Noor means light in Arabic. For more history on this historic Thoroughbred, please visit his FB page. Special thank you to Gary Parke, son of Noor's trainer, Burley Parke and Charlotte Farmer, friend and champion of Noor.
