Ladies Day at Kentucky Downs Benefits Old Friends

World Class Racing along with fun activities to benefit Old Friends Thoroughbred Retirement and Horses and Hope!

At noon, Jockey Rosie Napravnik will sign color photos for a $10 donation to Old Friends.
Patricia Cooksey, retired jockey and cancer survivors will sign Horses and Hope cards along with other lady jockeys.

Race 3 includes recognition of cancer survivors with a presentation of $2500 to Horses and Hope by Kentucky Downs.

The other nine races will benefit Old Friends Farms with sponsors donating $1,000 per race.

Old Friends and Horses and Hope will have gift items available.

A hat contest rounds out the day's activities with a Grand Prize of $500 for the best hat!   Horses and Hope will award a prize for the best Pink Hat.  There will also be a 'Filly' hat category for girls 12 and under.

Horses and Hope is a breast cancer initiative of the Kentucky Office of the First Lady and the Kentucky Cancer Program (KCP).  Their mission is to increase awareness, education, screening, and treatment referral among Kentucky horse industry workers and their families.  Learn more at:
