Kano Doble, who resided at Old Friends for seven years, was humanely euthanized yesterday afternoon at Hagyard's Equine Clinic due to complications resulting from a raging infection. "Mick," as he was known to many volunteers, wasn't a tourist attraction. He resided in the gelding herd at the furthest end of the farm and mostly kept to himself. But, sometimes, these great animals take the most unexpected times to show their inner strength. Just after he passed on, our Hagyard's veterinarian said he was remarkable kind especially in the face of his pain. Stoic until the end.
